How can project management software help with auditing and quality management?

A couple of months ago, I posted a blog about how IPM can expand across organisations to fit a number of different departments. Well we’ve also had a few enquiries lately about IPM’s extensibility in terms of different requirements of project management. So I thought I’d share with you a couple of examples of how IPM can be extended to cater for other needs you may have on your project.

The first is that IPM can be used as part of your quality management process. With the customisable checklists available in document control, you can create a quality control checklist that can be used on all jobs to ensure your quality management procedures are followed. There is also a facility within IPM to store any documentation relating to quality management on a particular job file, and these are fully searchable records.

The second example can be used to make the auditing process easier. With many of our clients being members of industry bodies or associations, they often have to be accountable during audits and have all the correct documentation at the ready. One specific requirement we know IPM can help with is the documentation surrounding employee training. Through simple customisations, a training entity can be added to a user or contact file in IPM and all evidence of training and accreditation an employee receives can easily be stored on their file. This entity would also utilise IPM’s reporting facilities so when audits arise, the necessary information can be quickly and easily reported on.

These are just a few ways IPM can be extended to cater for a variety of project management needs, and they are inexpensive and very easily deployed due to the fluid and customisable nature of IPM. If you have a particular business need IPM may be able to help you with, please feel free to contact us. We are always excited to come up with different ways to use our software in order to solve different problems and address specific needs your organisation may have when it comes to managing your projects.
